Getting here is easy because the city is located on a major east-west artery, U.S. Interstate 20, and is just a half hour from U.S. Interstate 55, the north-south corridor of Middle America. Vicksburg is also located on legendary U.S. Highway 61, the Great River Road, which leads to historic Port Gibson, Natchez and St. Francisville to the south and to the famed Mississippi Delta to the north. Memphis and New Orleans are approximately 200 miles to the north and south, respectively, and Vicksburg is roughly midway between Dallas and Atlanta.

Airlines

Flying is convenient, with the Jackson International Airport just 50 minutes away. For those with private planes, the Vicksburg Municipal Airport and the Vicksburg-Tallulah Regional Airport are less than 10 minutes from downtown. Commercial air service is available at Jackson, MS International Airport (JAN), 50 miles east of Vicksburg at I-20 Exit 52. Delta, American Eagle, Southwest, Northwest Airlink and Continental Express serve the Jackson airport. 601-939-5631. Vicksburg-Tallulah Regional Airport is a municipal facility located in Mound, LA on I-20, 8 miles west of Vicksburg. It features a 5,000 ft. x 100 ft. lighted, paved runway and a terminal building. The Vicksburg Convention Center is strategically located in the heart of downtown Vicksburg. The downtown district has ample free parking spaces. Our close proximity to I-20 makes Vicksburg easily accessible from all over Mississippi and Louisiana. Pick up maps and information on the city’s numerous attractions at the Vicksburg Visitors Center, Exit 4B off I-20. The Mississippi Welcome Center is located at Exit 1A off I-20.
